ERIE, PA (February 1, 2008) — Velocity.Net/SOFTEK, a Northwest Pennsylvania information technology and internet services firm, announced Velocity Network as its new name and the recent acquisitions of DSA of Erie, a payroll processing company, and fishtank creative, an advertising and public relations agency.

“The new Velocity Network offers a suite of products never before integrated in this region at enormous economies of scale,” said Joel Deuterman, President and CEO.

“Our investment and expanded services portfolio builds upon the company’s nearly 20 years of technology solution experience and gives our clients the ability to outsource services that are not typically core to most businesses—such as IT, payroll, custom programming and marketing,” said Deuterman.

“The slogan implies that Velocity Network’s units of business were designed to help clients with solution-based, cost-effective productivity. We’re the same Velocity.Net/SOFTEK, but with a new name and more business services,” he added.

The former SOFTEK will become the IT Services business unit of the Velocity Network, while Velocity.Net, the local Internet Service Provider (ISP) launched in 1996, will continue to operate under the Velocity Network umbrella.

The six strategic business units within the Velocity Network are:

• IT Services, incorporating both the former SOFTEK and the former DSA of Erie, Inc. IT division, acquired in 2006, for network performance, efficiency and profitability
• Internet Services from Velocity.Net for high-speed broadband connectivity, e-commerce and data center services
• Communications through Velocity.Net Communications for technology-driven telecommunications products
• Innovative Solutions by Velocity Labs for business automation, content management, web development, custom programming and integration
• Payroll Services from the newly acquired DSA of Erie, Inc. payroll division, providing customized payroll processing solutions since 1970
• Creative Services via the newly acquired fishtank creative, a full-service strategic marketing, advertising and public relations agency, founded in 1990.
