Use A Smart Phone as a Webcam

Don’t have a webcam? You’re not alone. It’s been difficult to purchase one as most brick and mortar, and online stores are sold out. Thankfully, you can use the smartphone that you probably already have as a webcam by utilizing some inexpensive software. Below are a few options that cover most requirements.

  • For Android phones, there is DroidCamX Pro ($5) It will allow you to connect your phone to a Windows or Linux PC.
  • If you’re a Windows user, but you have an iPhone, iVCam might be the solution for you.
  • Finally, if you’re using a Mac, try EpocCam Webcam. I’ve personally tested this product, and it works as described.

If you find a product that we didn’t list here that works for you, we’d love to hear about it.
